Cacti & Succulents
LIGHT: We like bright light and direct sun. It is best to gradually introduce us to the sun if we haven’t been getting much. Some of us are more sensitive to sun than others. We love to be outside in the heat during the summer. We will start to stretch out if we aren’t receiving enough light. If we are bleaching out, we might be getting too much sun.
WATER: We store water in our leaves and stems so we don’t need watered often but enjoy a good splash after completely drying out. Sometimes we get limp or shrivel a little when we are really parched.
TIP: Dry leaves at the bottom of our stems is ok; it just means we are growing taller.
Fun Facts: All cacti are in the succulent family. Often what we call cactus are actually euphorbia. Cactus have spines that grow from a cushiony bump called an areole. Euphorbia have thorns that grow from the branch or stem. Call your plant what you want - we aren't the plant police!
